Read the plan that applies to you. These are Vita Medella’s general explanations, not new IMG policy wording or a personal coverage decision. Where a specific plan example helps, we use the Illinois base iTravelInsured Travel SE sample, form T7000IP IL, version SE 04.04.25 v1.0. Other states, plans and optional benefits can differ. The policy and endorsements actually issued to you control.

We prepaid for a family cruise, flights and hotels. What can trip protection help protect?

Trip protection can help with prepaid, nonrefundable trip costs when a covered event causes cancellation or interruption. Think about the cruise, flights, hotels and tours you could lose—not expenses you can already recover from a supplier. Medical and evacuation benefits are separate parts to compare, not automatic promises that every loss is covered.

What to do next

  • List each traveler’s prepaid, nonrefundable costs.
  • Check supplier refunds or credits before deciding what costs remain at risk.
  • Compare the plan’s cancellation, interruption, medical and evacuation terms.

What if someone gets seriously sick on the cruise or needs to be evacuated?

Medical treatment and medical evacuation are different benefits. Do not assume your regular health plan includes either for this trip. In the Illinois Travel SE example, emergency evacuation is to suitable treatment, not automatically home; medical repatriation has separate conditions. Contact the plan’s assistance service for an actual emergency.

What to do next

  • Check your current health plan’s coverage for the destination.
  • Compare emergency medical treatment and evacuation as separate benefits.
  • Keep the purchased plan’s assistance contact and documents with you.

If I change my mind about going, will travel insurance refund my trip?

Not automatically. Standard trip cancellation responds to reasons listed in the plan, not every change of mind. Optional Cancel For Any Reason coverage is different and may provide partial reimbursement if its purchase, cancellation and other requirements are met. Do not assume it is included in the base Travel SE plan or available for every resident.

What to do next

  • Find the plan’s list of covered cancellation reasons.
  • If flexibility matters, check whether an optional CFAR benefit is offered.
  • Review its timing and reimbursement conditions before purchase.

I already have a medical condition. What should I check before buying?

An existing condition is a reason to check the rules—not a reason to assume you are either covered or excluded. Review the plan’s definition, lookback period and any exclusion waiver. Purchase timing and medical fitness can matter. Buying a plan does not, by itself, prove that a particular condition or claim is covered.

What to do next

  • Note the date of your first trip payment or deposit.
  • Read the applicable condition definition, exclusion and waiver together.
  • Do not enter medical information in this guide; use the appropriate secure carrier process if needed.

Review Travel SE eligibility and options

Can you tell me our family’s exact price and confirm that we are covered?

Unknown here: an accurate price requires your trip and traveler details in IMG’s quote process. A quote is not proof that insurance has been issued. Review the offered wording, eligibility and purchase confirmation; this guide neither calculates a premium nor guarantees personal coverage.

What to do next

  • Continue to the actual IMG quote-entry screen.
  • Enter trip and traveler details there—not in this guide.
  • Review the quote and documents; confirm issuance after completing a purchase.
